Dear Friends of FICM,

We thank God once again for bringing us through another week, even though    challenging, God has truly fulfilled His promise to us. Gwynn returned Monday from a restful, restorative, retreat. Each Labor Day weekend, Connecting and Bonding, a non-profit for Ministers’ Wives sponsors this glorious time of restore women who serve along their husbands. Gwynn highly recommends them.

When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.  Ps 94:19

Today as we reflect of our nations healing from 9/11 we remember so vividly that although we had needs, our nation had a greater need. We continue to pray for our nation and for those who continue to be touched by sin’s dread sway. We must collectively, live intentionally to bring Christ to lost men, women and children.

Praise Update

Thanks to our crew from Newsong, Irvine (BAM), Nicola Reynolds (Georgia) and Rebecca (Wisconsin) and Fontane (Illinois). It is only through the power of God we have hope. We thank God VIP Printing and Print 4 Life for coming to our rescue to print and prepare for mailing which was long past due. Through their diligence and consistency they were able to bring everything together.

Pepperdine University’s “Step Forward” Day brought 15 students who interacted with our community kids and participated in distributing the back packs from Here’s Life Inner City, LA and school supplies.  Thank you Tommy for the delicious hot dogs links. Thanks to Meka Webb of 5 A Day Healthy Start for the great T-Shirts, gifts and materials made available, also.

Thanks to Diane for relieving Pastor Joe in preparing the Sunday dinner, Bro. Findley and Mr. Pete helping pastor going downtown and helping as needed.

We praise God for Steve and Jerry recovering substance abusers. For years they turned to Faith in Christ Ministries for encouragement and support. Friday night past, Steve celebrated 1 year sobriety and Jerry who never believed that God loved him enough to rescue him, when he came to church yesterday he was a visible manifestation of God working in his life to be and to do more than he had ever expected.

Miracle

A miracle in time; Joe and I were looking through the bills to see what to pay  because we could not afford bring everything current, but praise be to God, Joe as sitting in the park on a van he was donating to a new church when a person came and asked about buying a truck, which he did. Thank the Lord we were able to meet most of our obligations. Not only that, during our Sunday service, pastor was sharing with the church about our financial challenges and the people, even though could hardly afford to give they made a sacrificial gift of $145.00.

I was overjoyed to receive a phone call from a former volunteer seeking to do an internship with us because S.A.Y. Yes! is scheduled to resume Tuesday the 19th and I did not have any volunteers, yet. And, after the Saturday distribution of school supplies, 2 of our Spanish speaking moms, said (through their children) they would help with serving snacks. What a blessing!
