PRAYER REPORT

Ps 116:5-7

The LORD is gracious and righteous;

our God is full of compassion.

The LORD protects the simple hearted

when I was in great need, he saved me.

Be at rest once more, O my soul,

We thank God for His goodness. Each day He manifest Himself to us in ways words cannot express; the reality of His words. As He says “I will never leave you and I will never forsake you. I will be with you until the end of the age”. In spite of all the challenges we encounter from day to day, we can testify to the reality of God.

Gwynn and I had the occasion of attending a wedding for George and Eileen Frie of Woodley Avenue Community Church and a memorial service for Dave Bergman of Cypress Church. George and Dave have been a tremendous blessing to us. We wish George and Eileen rich and wonderful life together. What a beautiful tribute to a godly man who loved and his wife and family so much and gave of himself to all he cared about; it is believed he was rescued from the pain and trauma of cancer and is enjoying eternal life with our Heavenly Father.

We thank you for your prayers for Marie. She is now placed in a home where she can be cared for and nurtured. It was heart-breaking seeing her sleeping on the sidewalk in front of our church even after we had found a place for her. Praise God she is now in a community where she will be given her medication regularly and where her health and hygiene will be taken care of. The food we provided for her was not enough because of her mental condition. Now she found a home. Gwynn was overjoyed to be there when the lady came for her.

S.A.Y. Yes! Youth Development Program:

Here’s Life Inner City; make available school shoes for 50 children from the S.A.Y. Yes! 5K Fun Walk in Cerritos. Next spring we hope more of you will walk with us that we can do even more.

We resume our after school program tomorrow, September 19.

I am pleased to announce Erica Shepler Romero will be working with us on Tuesdays. We need more volunteers to be able to serve all the students wanting to participate in our program. It is very important we maintain a 5:1 ratio to best serve our students.

We are still in need of tutors, mentors and teachers to help with the after school program. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Kids Club:  Families, are you looking for a volunteer project you can do together?

We are still desperately in need of assistance for our Kids Club on Saturdays.

Thanksgiving Day Celebration Preparations:

Pastor Joe needs a lot of help in preparation for Thanksgiving.

Gary did a great job at the Saturday’s Pre-Thanksgiving’ day meeting; it was a wonderful opportunity to see beforehand the blessings and the challenges before us. I know by God’s grace, all is well.

 Needed:

Worship Team/Musicians

Family Entertainment

Evangelism Outreach Teams

Painters and  plumbers to ready the kitchen for Thanksgiving

Also, we are still in need of someone to fix the sinks in the men and women’s bathroom, reinstall a toilet paper towel fixture and some minor electrical repairs.

Your support is greatly appreciated at this time. Our financial goals per month is $3,000.00

 ·   On September 12 we celebrated our daughter Jennifer’s  26th birthday. We cannot hardly imagine from a baby in a cradle to a God fearing woman who aspires to live her life to the glory of God.

Reminder, we have exterior/interior paint available to donate to any organization or person.
