I cry to you, O LORD; I say, "You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living." Listen to my cry, for I am in desperate need; rescue me from those who pursue me, for they are too strong for me. Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name. Then the righteous will gather about me because of your goodness to me.

Ps 142:5-7

S.A.Y. Yes! Youth Development Program:

We praise God once again for His goodness, mercy and grace, without which we would not have been able meet our daily challenges. The reality of His word was manifested as we resumed our after school program. In spite of the challenges that were presented to us from day to day He sustained us by the power of His strength.

Pastor Browne and I are doing everything possible for the benefit of the children. His presence makes a difference. Having a father-figure present is a gracious thing. He seems to know how to get to the kids and helps them to focus. That in itself is a blessing.

We thank God for Erica. She, too, makes a difference. Her years of experience she brings definitely is a plus. Her concern and her diligences is an encouragement.

Erica and I met with Pastor Joe on Friday to strategize as to how we can function more effectively in the arena that God has given us. We praise God for Her.

Sunday Ministry Opportunity:

We were extremely blessed this past Sunday, even though I was away attending Alhambra First Baptist Church, participating in their Mission Emphasis, everything went well. Granted there is always a challenge for Pastor Joe when I am away from FICM, but the Skid-row ministry, feeding the community and worship serve was a success. Pastor Browne preached from Luke 5, “Expanding the Vision”. People were receptive and many hearts were turned to the Lord.

And please pray for Marie
It was heartbreaing when we opened the door at 7:30 a.m., Marie was waiting.  Her condition has deteriorated drastically.  Apparently she is no longer in the home of the care-giver who picker her up.  We are not sure what to do with Marie, apart from God giving us the grace and the power to pray for her that she will be delivered from her condition
Please keep Frances Carasco in prayer.  In spite of her physical disabilities, she was able to make it to our Sunday services.  We were delighted to see her there.  Frances has suffered much.  Her husband died some years ago, one of her sons was taken away from her and placed in foster care, on was killed and the 2 remaining sons are incarcerated.  She never ceases to smile in spite of her pain.

Kids Club:

We praise God for Joyce who is working side by side with Susan our Kids Club director. Both of them make a great pair. Joyce is a tremendous blessing because she is bilingual and can communicate with the Hispanic community and able to translate for us as the need arise.

Ministry Partnering

NEEDS:

We are in need of volunteers for both after school program, Tues. Wed. Thurs. 2:30 to 5 p.m. and for Kids’ Club on Saturdays 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

I would like to update our bulletin boards. I need some you talented art-type people to come when during the day, an afternoon, a weekend to help revitalize our community center boards.

Please help us make our financial goal of $3,000 per month a reality. We do thank those of you who are responding from month to month, but we are still financially stressed.

The Thanksgiving flyers will be mailed out next week. We need your prayerful support and participation in making Thanksgiving a reality.

Thank you for your prayerful support.
