Praise!

We are experiencing the power of Christ. As the scripture said (Ps 34:6-7) this poor man called, and the LORD heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.

After talking with the supervisor the property taxes were reduced, additionally by the grace of God, we received enough support we were able to meet our obligations. The water and power bills which have been a monthly challenge, that too, by God’s grace, not only were we able to meet our month’s obligation, the Department of Water and Power changed the status of one of our buildings which will enable us to better meet our obligations each month. Praise God! At times when we are confronted with these challenges, it has been very difficult, but God has proven himself over and over again. It builds my confidence to know in spite of everything, God’s promises stands firm; He will never leave us, He will never forsake us.

S.A.Y. Yes! Youth Development

Our week of S.A.Y.Yes! after school program is turning out to be extremely fruitful. By God’s grace, the kids’ behaviors are changing; we thank you for your prayers. We thank God for Erica for toiling along side me confronting the challenges week after week. Erica also made it possible through one of her supporters that we were able to take the kids out for a surprise lunch. While we were having lunch, one of our kids, observed a homeless lady; he assumed she was hungry. He asked Pastor if he could share his French fries with her and he did. Pastor Joe knew that would not have been enough so he offered to buy her lunch. Her whole facial expression changed. That was a tremendous blessing. We have always impressed upon the kids to be consider the needs of others.

I had the opportunity to serve as a judge, to select new members for their organization. We look forward to the Belles working with our students during their school year. Along with gaining access to the UCLA students we also have established a new relationship with one of the leaders of a campus college church group who is looking for ways to participate with us on an ongoing basis.

Also,

Susan, and amazing individual held Kids’ Club as usual. She was introduced to a new family from the community who desire to have her grandchildren participate with us on an ongoing basis.

We praise God that one of our Board Members has volunteered to assist bringing Rebecca from Wisconsin, our weekend warrior back to us in December so that she can continue working on the website and additionally helping us with our Public Relations.

Community Breakfast

West Hills Baptist Church and Spirit Works teams (pictured left) made a tremendous impact in our community with the homeless people in our community. They share the food with love and compassion and also share the gospel in the process. It was a thrill to see them praying with the people at the tables as they introduced them to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Glendale Presbyterian Church’s team with Heidi and company served with us, as well. Her diligence in serving the Lord is evident. She worked until late in the afternoon helping with a PowerPoint presentation.

Community Service

The Pet Mobile offered free service to our community. Thirty-seven dogs and cats received vaccinations, neutering spaying and free treats.
